2014 AIABaltimore Design Awards Now Accepting Entries

The AIABaltimore Excellence in Design Awards Competition is now open and ready for submissions for AIABaltimore architects and Associate AIABaltimore members. There are a number of changes to the submission process that will make its easier than ever to submit your project!

First, you will notice that the AIABaltimore Awards are housed on a website along with other Maryland chapters of AIA: AIA Maryland, Chesapeake Bay and Potomac Valley. These chapters have standardized the required forms and materials so that you can easily create a SINGLE submission per project and submit it to MULTIPLE chapters’ competitions (separate entry fees and eligibility requirements still apply).

In previous years, AIABaltimore has required all projects to be accompanied by a 36×36″ physical project presentation board.  Printing these large boards can be costly and time-consuming, especially for smaller firms.  We now accept entirely DIGITAL entries with physical boards only being required of WINNING projects. These new digital materials are multi-page 8.5 x 11″  PDFs.

Finally, ALL submissions will enjoy increased publicity.  Projects submitted will appear on a public website designed to be viewed by the public and promoted through social media.  We hope that this new visibility adds value to the process of entering the AIABaltimore Excellence in Design Awards Competition, whether you a small or large firm.

To get started on your entry:

  1. Pay the project entry fee through Eventbrite (below)
  2. Go to the competition webpage that is linked in your payment confirmation email.
  3. Create a profile for yourself and create a submission for each project; if you have already entered a project to AIA Maryland’s Excellence in Design Competition, these will appear on your profile page and are listed along side the option to duplicate your entry.
