2015 Int’l Energy Conservation Code: Compliance for Architecture + Design

This course introduces the new 2015 International Energy Conservation Code. General topics featured relevant to code content include design implications, regulatory considerations, compliance methods, and construction techniques. Specific emphasis will be given to the different facets of building envelope design including thermal + moisture protection, envelope continuity, and logistics of implementation.
Participants will receive practical instruction on the formal principles of the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code with attentions to design tools, compliances methods, construction details, and performance measurement.
Jason Winters, AIA, LEED BD+C has worked on several energy conservation initiatives in conjunction with Newport Partners, LLC. His most recent efforts include participation in the Maryland Energy Association IECC 90% code compliance initiative as well as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Innovation Building Technology Guide.
Jason is a founding principal of the architectural design firm Kezlo Group. His professional work has been primarily focused on design in the specialty of healthcare architecture. This area of expertise considers the articulation of the built environment as an opportunity to advance the emotional, social, and physical well-being of its inhabitants.
