AIABaltimore Firm Happy Hour with RM Sovich Architecture at The Hotel Indigo
May 28, 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pmFree
FREE to Attend
AIABaltimore hosts an ongoing series of Firm Happy Hours to promote fellowship among the design profession and construction industry, and awareness of the benefits of AIA membership. These free events offer the opportunity to chat about current projects, socialize with our architectural community, and hear an overview of an AIA Committee.
This month, we will be at the newly renovated Hotel Indigo. A fine example of Renaissance-Revival palazzo-style building, 24 W. Franklin Street in Baltimore City is a national historic landmark. The 1907 building was home to the YMCA in Baltimore and rumored to once be the home to confessed Soviet spy Whittaker Chambers.
The 170 room hotel is in the final stages of a $20 million renovation which was designed by the team of RM Sovich Architecture of Baltimore and Ai3 Interior Design of Atlanta. The renovations included reopening the lobby space to its original height and recasting of the interiors to reflect the story of the Mt Vernon Neighborhood.
