Community Solar is coming to Maryland! With the Public Service Commission’s approval of the regulations for a three-year pilot program, Maryland is on a path to become one of only eleven U.S. states with community solar programs.
“Community Solar” refers to solar electric (photovoltaic) energy generation projects that allow a group of people to own a stake in or subscribe to the energy output of a solar energy installation. This new program will give a wider range of Maryland residents access to the benefits of solar power and permit a larger number of utility customers, including low and moderate income households, to participate in solar energy projects.
Join us to learn more about the opportunities and challenges involved in bringing community solar projects on-line and how to participate in the process. Our panelists will discuss the basics of community solar, review the history of the regulatory process and what it all will mean for residents in Maryland.
