Mr. Fowler Builds a Dream House: A Walking Tour of Laurence Hall Fowler Architecture

June 24 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm

Fowler house

Presented by the Baltimore Architecture Foundation and the Evergreen Museum & Library

A rare opportunity to view multiple residences designed by Baltimore architect Laurence Hall Fowler, from some of his earliest commissions at Oak Place and the Calvert School, to his many commissions at Evergreen for John Work and Alice Warder Garrett.

Led by emerging Fowler scholar, Amy K. Kimball, the tour will include exclusive visits into select houses, a private viewing of Fowler’s architectural drawings at Evergreen Museum & Library, and a wine and cheese reception following the tour.

The tour will begin at the Calvert School, 105 Tuscany Road, and will conclude at Evergreen Museum & Library, 4545 North Charles Street. The route will cover approximately 2 miles and includes a gentle uphill slope.

Parking for tour attendees will be available in the Calvert Middle School parking lot located at 4300 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21218 on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

Please Note:

Cars shall be parked only in the painted parking spaces in the parking lots on school grounds.  There is no parking any time in any driveway along the front, back or side of the school.

Parking on the Calvert School campus is at your own risk, and attendees assume all responsibility for any damages to vehicles or property.
