Remington is quickly becoming a very different neighborhood than it was 10 years ago. In addition to the impact that the changes are bringing to Remington, this economic growth is strengthening the north/south spine of the city. From there, redevelopment can grow east and west, which is very promising for Baltimore. The current wave of redevelopment began with the adaptive reuse of Miller’s Court for nonprofit organization offices and residences for teachers, then by adding single-family owner-occupied housing, commercial/retail space renovations, and new construction mixed-use. The variety of investment and focus on a singular neighborhood is a model of grassroots change.
The AIABaltimore Historic Resources Committee will host a tour and panel discussion to explore this topic in a program for Baltimore Architecture Month. The tour will begin at Miller’s Court at 5:00 p.m. and continue to the Single Carrot Theater where the discussion panel will begin at 5:30 p.m.The program will be followed by a reception.
The program is open to the public
