Tour of the Parkway Theatre
September 15, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
1 AIA/CES HSW LU available
Located near the corner of North Charles Street and North Avenue, the historic theater was built in 1915, in the image of the grand houses that came before it. It eventually closed in 1977 due to poor attendance and urban decline.
The new Niarchos Parkway Film Center will be devoted not only to the exhibition of film, but also the study and production of it, which will directly benefit JHU and MICA as both have undergrad film programs.
The project team is Southway, Seawall and Ziger/Snead. We’ll be gathering for refreshments and our monthly Historic Resources Committee (HRC) meeting off-site after the tour at the newly restored Centre Theatre, located at 10 E. North Avenue, a quick walk from the Parkway. Join us!
Attendees are advised to wear closed toe shoes.
