JMT Architecture Adds Three Newly Licensed Architects

(L-R) Mike Grabenstein, Susie Cunningham, Ashley Liss

Baltimore, MD (April 16, 2018) JMT Architecture  has announced that three of its professionals have now become licensed architects. Those professionals are: Michael A. Grabenstein, AIA, LEED AP, Susan Q. Cunningham, AIA, LEED AP, and Ashley P. Liss, AIA.
With 15 years of experience in commercial, education, institutional, retail, and residential projects for public entities and private clients, Grabenstein has a broad range of experience, from designing systemic renovations to schools to new corporate office buildings to interior fit-outs. He has lead project teams and managed documentation for LEED building certification. In addition, he has a thorough knowledge and experience managing of all phases of design including initial programming, design documentation, bidding, and construction administration. Grabenstein is registered in Maryland.
Cunningham began her professional career more than 20 years ago on construction sites as an intern with The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Cunningham joined the firm in 2000 after graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Since her first day Susie has been involved in a variety of notable projects that include: the LEED Silver Randallstown Community Center; the 72,000 square foot addition to Glenelg Country School for upper school science, library, and field house; interior enhancements and reconfiguration to the historic Brown Memorial Church; and the 50,000 square foot state-of-the-art health club, Atlantic Coast Athletic Club, in eastern Pennsylvania. Susie enjoys getting her hands around what is required for her projects. She knows the outcome is directly related to her ability.  Her experience, knowledge and designs incorporate our passion for enhancing the quality of life. Susie is registered in Florida.
Ashley Liss has six years of experience working in the industry. Liss’ work emphasizes the importance of collaboration, teamwork, and strong communication. Liss’ involvement includes illustrative drawings, renderings, and planning for programming and schematic design through technical construction documentation. She is also a strong advocate for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and has experience in office standardization and coordination of the software and training. To aid in sharing her passion for design, she is a proud volunteer for the ACE Mentor Program of Eastern Pennsylvania. She is based out of JMT’s Philadelphia office and now registered in Pennsylvania.
“It is an exciting time here at JMT Architecture,” says Al Rubeling, FAIA, JMT Senior Vice President and JMT Architecture Practice Leader. “We are all very proud of Mike, Susie, and Ashley’s hard work to get where they are today. Keep in mind, they had to earn these licenses while also maintaining their full client workload. ”
Continues Rubeling, “With today’s news on our new registered architects, JMT Architecture launch in February, and recent additions to our higher education team, we are excited for the future.”
In February, JMT, Inc. launched JMT Architecture and consolidated architecture and interior design groups in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Columbus.  JMT Architecture strategically focuses planning and design projects in the K-12, higher education, cultural, government, healthcare, and community markets.
