Baltimore Architecture Foundation to Receive $25,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts
Baltimore, MD— Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) is pleased to announce it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a Grants for Arts Projects award of $25,000. This grant will support our annual program, Doors Open Baltimore. In total, the NEA will award 958 Grants for Arts Projects awards totaling more than $27.1 million that were announced as part of its first round of fiscal year 2024 grants.
“The NEA is delighted to announce this grant to Baltimore Architecture Foundation, which is helping contribute to the strength and well-being of the arts sector and local community,” Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD, National Endowment for the Arts Chair, said. “We are pleased to be able to support this community and help create an environment where all people have the opportunity to live artful lives.”
Launched in 2014, Doors Open Baltimore, hosted by Baltimore Architecture Foundation, is an annual city-wide festival honoring Baltimore’s diverse cultural tapestry by highlighting its vibrant neighborhoods, captivating architecture, and distinctive spaces that contribute to the city’s exceptional charm. Doors Open Baltimore will return for its 11th year in October 2024.
“We would not be able to bring the vision of Doors Open Baltimore to life without funding from organizations that foster public access to the arts and cultural heritage,” Lauren Hill, Executive Director of BAF, said. “BAF is grateful to the National Endowment for the Arts for their continued support. Doors Open Baltimore has just celebrated its first 10 years, and we look forward to promoting the richness of Baltimore’s architecture and neighborhoods for years to come.”
