Gingerbread Rowhome Build

The Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) invites youth of all ages to participate in its inaugural Gingerbread Rowhome Build activity. In collaboration with Downtown Partnership’s Candy Lane in Central Plaza, the BAF will host an afternoon of gingerbread rowhome building and decorating on Sunday, December 4, 2022. The rowhouse is synonymous with Baltimore city living and has been instrumental in making Baltimore a city of neighborhoods. With this in mind, the BAF has developed a family-friendly activity to celebrate Baltimore architecture and the holiday season.

In partnership with the Lord Baltimore Hotel’s LB Bistro & Bakery, the BAF is designing and assembling kits that contain all the pieces necessary to build and decorate a two-story rowhome – gingerbread pieces for the walls and roof, royal icing to hold the pieces together, and a bag of candy decorations to add festive flair.

One kit is included with an event ticket to the Gingerbread Rowhome Build activity taking place on Sunday, December 4 at 1:30pm at the Center for Architecture and Design (Plaza level of 100 N. Charles Street, entrance on W. Fayette Street). Pre-registration is required for participation in the Gingerbread Rowhome Build activity. Each kit is suitable for 1-2 children, depending on age. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets will be available on Eventbrite beginning November 7; more information and a link to register can be found at AIABaltimore.org/gingerbread.
