AIABaltimore, together with their Future Architects Resources (FAR) Committee, offers a Scholarship Program for students pursuing careers in Architecture. The scholarship recognizes excellent design work that reflects innovation, social responsibility, environmental stewardship and critical thinking. Submissions can be a single project, multiple projects or a research/theory paper (graduate students only) that responds to this criteria.
The scholarship program is open to students beginning their final year* of their architectural studies program (undergraduate/graduate school/community college) in Maryland.
Projected FAR Scholarship awards are as follows:
- Graduate Students- two at $500 each
(one of these reserved for a research/theory paper)
- Undergraduate- one at $400
- Community College- one at $300*
- Honorable Mention Citations- up to six additional at $50 each
Eligible architectural studies programs include those at Morgan State University, Maryland Institute College of Art, University of Maryland College Park, Anne Arundel Community College and Montgomery College.
Applications in accordance with requirements outlined on the AIABaltimore website are due no later than September 19, 2014 on our online submission site. The scholarship winners will be announced at AIABaltimore’s Design Awards Celebration to be held at the new UMBC Performing Arts & Humanities Building on October 10, 2014; scholarship stipends will be paid in January 2015.
* Community college graduates enrolled in an undergraduate architecture program may apply
